Description

Digg's collecting more and more data every day and we need someone to spearhead our data storage and mining strategy.

Responsibilities

* Deal with tons of data

* Propose and implement solutions for analytics, data mining and log storage/processing

* Coordinate with the ops team to ensure our Hadoop cluster is happy

REQUIREMENTS:

* Experience with storing terabytes of data in Hadoop

* Able to write map/reduce jobs by hand

* Knowledge and experience with tools like Hive, Pig etc

* Ability to coordinate with various teams to fulfill their reporting & data mining needs

* Some experience administering a decent sized Hadoop cluster

* Have cooked up A/B testing & analytics strategies in the past
