Description

Digg is looking for a Software Engineer to design and build an industry leading ad serving platform. You'll work closely with Digg's R&D team to create new software that will connect millions of people each day with highly relevant, social ads.

Responsibilities

* Take ownership

of platform features

* Work in small and agile teams

* Contribute to design and code reviews

* Apply cutting-edge technologies (Cassandra, Hadoop, etc.) in a very high volume environment

* Monitor and improve advertising effectiveness

* Develop robust APIs and web applications that showcase the platform

Qualifications

* Proven experience building web applications

* Solid understanding of scalable and performant web architectures

* Experience building and consuming web based APIs a plus

* Experience with advertising a plus

* Experience with tools like Hive and Pig a plus

* Experience with Python, PHP, MySQL, Cassandra a plus

* Agile, test-driven development experience desirable

* Experience with Git a plus
